The Players will be holding open auditions at the end of May for "One Man, Two Guvnors" by Richard Bean, to be directed by Paul Davey. We invite anyone interested, seasoned actors and beginners to our auditions.
A huge hit at the National Theatre, then in the West End and on Broadway, One Man, Two Guvnors has also been successfully produced by many amateur groups and is packed full of larger than life characters, snappy dialogue and classic physical comedy.
Monday 25 May from 7.30pm in the Theatre Bar.
Anyone is welcome to come along and read the script – particularly to familiarise yourself with it before auditioning, or just for the enjoyment of it!
Tuesday 26 May at 7.30pm &
Sunday 31 May at 3.00pm at the Theatre.
Performance Dates: 15 - 19 September 2026
Rehearsals will commence from 16 June, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and some Sunday afternoons from 12 July.
For a full synopsis, the director's vision for the production, and info on the characters, please see the (or download PDF)
It is helpful for us to know who to expect at auditions in advance, so please complete an if you're able to. This is not mandatory, and you may also just turn up on the day.
Auditions are open to all, regardless of experience - all that's needed is enthusiasm and an open mind! Anyone cast will be expected to become a member of the Hurst Players.
If you're interested in getting involved in the magic of community theatre and having a laugh with like-minded people then please pop down - we'd love to see you!
