Production Dates: 8 - 12 July 2025
The Players will be holding auditions in April for "Sylvia" (a comedy by A R Gurney, to be directed by Annette Squire). We invite anyone interested, seasoned actors and beginners to our auditions.
Middle-aged Greg finds Sylvia, a street-wise dog (played by a human) in the park and brings her back to the now empty nest that he shares with his wife Kate, who is distinctly unimpressed by the new guest! As the relationship between man and dog grows, cracks appear in the marriage. What will happen? Will Sylvia be allowed to stay? Will Kate ever come to feel the same way about her as Gregg does?
Monday 14 April at 8.00pm &
Wednesday 16 April at 8.00pm in the Theatre.
Anyone wishing to audition but unable to make either of these times/days should contact Annette Squire to arrange an alternative – email enquiries@hurstplayers.org.uk, phone 01273 833164
This is a funny, thought-provoking, and very touching play that will be great fun to perform as well as to watch. If you would like to know more about it or if you would like to look at a script, please contact Annette as above. Or just roll up on 14th or 16th April.
Auditions are open to all, regardless of experience - all that's needed is enthusiasm and an open mind!
If you're interested in getting involved in the magic of community theatre and having a laugh with like-minded people then please pop down - we'd love to see you!
