Getting Involved

There are many ways to take part in the work we do and we are always keen to welcome newcomers who share our passion for quality-driven, local theatre.

Curtain Up 2024

Come along on Wednesday 17th April at 7.30pm to hear how you can help. There'll be an open bar, tea, coffee and nibbles and a very warm welcome. If you have ever wondered what goes on backstage, well, now is the time to find out. We'll show you around and explain about how a production comes together, and how you can help, with any or all theatre departments - set design, construction and decor; sound and lights (especially our new easy to operate state-of-the-art systems); wardrobe; front of house; box office and bar. No previous experience is necessary!

Cheesy grins

Meaningful stares

Dazed confusion

Don't worry if acting's not your thing - there are plenty of other ways to get involved. No production could take place without a director, sound and lighting operators, a stage manager and backstage team, set builders, and the dedicated front-of-house and bar volunteers. Whatever your talent, there's a place for you in Hurst Players and we'd love to welcome you on board! You'll find we're an easy going group with a passion for great theatre and a desire to have fun. Why not give it a go?
